Dia Natural Stone Projects: Signature Diabase Designs

Antalya Republic Square

Our firm was selected to supply durable, low-maintenance ground coverings for the renovation of Antalya’s seaside Republic Square. Given the location’s wet winters and bustling foot traffic patterns, 4cm thick diabase stone pavers were chosen to withstand years of expected urban use. The brushed finish serves the practical purpose of preventing slick surfaces during Antalya’s rainfall while visually imparting a refined style reminiscent of the sea. Now a community anchor and sightseeing favorite, the Square’s newly installed diabase stonework delights citizens and tourists for decades to come.

Konyaalti Beach

Our Konyaalti Beach project bridged coastal and urban contexts through varied diabase stonework totaling over 670,000 square feet. The client envisioned public spaces promoting community connection. Thus, 4cm thick brushed diabase stones were used because the location would be open to traffic. The central plaza features crushed cobble and tumbled diabase mixes ideal for casual gatherings or events. With its range of textures beckoning visitors to linger between sea and city, Konyaalti Beach’s diverse natural diabase stonework transforms once-disconnected sites into an integrated civic landscape that compels communal activity.

Seeking to comply with Bodrum’s signature aesthetic mandating white-washed buildings or natural stone facades, Swiss Hotel adopted diabase throughout its new property. Sandblasted and brushed rectangular diabase panels 3×30 meters dress the exterior with almost 100,000 square feet of rugged refinement. Pools and pathways continue the mineral-flecked stone, effecting an indoor-outdoor flow. Bodrum Swiss Hotel’s diabase stonework meshes cultural legacy with contemporary comforts, proving the timeless material builds environments as transcendent as the Aegean coastline’s persisting beauty.

Seeking to upgrade public amenities while retaining regional architectural character, the Kas Square renovation tapped diabase stonework’s understated versatility. Tumbled 8×12 diabase cubes gently paved over 37,000 square feet of roadways, blending rugged distressing with modern geometric harmony. Adjoining sidewalks paired sandblasted and brushed 4×20 rectangular panels totaling over 50,000 square feet, effecting a fluid pedestrian zone. Bordered by 2,500 linear feet of brushed curbstones, Kas Square’s comprehensive diabase stonework bridges traditional Turkish building styles with coastal community needs. The resulting well-trafficked gathering space pairs locational continuity with everyday functionality, crafting civic infrastructure made to serve coming generations.
